Second Life

He is talking about "Second Life"

How you have to create a new persona, buy all aspects of your "virtual" personality.

How sickly fitting.

Earlier they were talking about how

"It seems like [he] has been here forever....." " I can't even imagine when he wasn't here, with us."

Seems that his transformation is complete

Like that scene in "The Shining" when Jack Nicholson realizes that he's always been at the Overlook Hotel. Always been a jovial guest at some otherworldy, sinister bacchanal.

Smile for the camera.

And doesn't the garden look nice today.

Trim, together, new flower beds and new sod in the back. He grills

She talks of a time when "there weren't men around" and had to do the housework herself. An anecdote about a dead pigeon, shot through by a stray marksman.

As if there aren't women somewhere who don't have men around. As if there aren't gardens somewhere that are decaying, overgrown. Weeds and mold.

Dishwasher broken, house rotting.

Somewhere, the party is over.

With no one to clean up the mess
