Persia

They are rioting in Tehran

Silently, though.

Through their silence they hope to jar awake

Reason

But outside my window, people are screaming

Yelling, singing, drunk.

And I'm reading about the decay of old England

Through the medium of a ghost story

Set just after the War

That tore this land apart

And the old way of life with it.

Labour and the Health Service

Georgian Manor's roof buckles, plaster falls.

Outside the diesel engine of a taxicab

Brings home a harem of shrieking girls

While in Tehran

They walk. Silently

To awaken Reason
