The Academy

We Trust in Thee

Oh Heavenly Father

To Guide our Thoughts and Actions This Day

Bless us and Keep us in thy Divine Love Forever

Amen

So started the day at the Academy

Rows of blond children, some brunette

Sons of Doctors, Daughters of Professors

Rows of Desks

Cursive

Lines to Recess

No Talking!

Holding me Firm, Hard, Outside the Classroom

I had said "Fuck"

I did not know it was bad

I said Fuck and teacher took me, held me hard

Her thumbs imprinting on my 2nd Grade shoulders

Cold Eyes as she asked me why I had said it

I did not Know Fuck was Bad

I did not know

Bless us and Keep us in Thy Divine Love Forever

Amen
