Some things just are

The English are grandmothers, all.

They have been having a discussion around a table since King Arthur assembled a team of rivals.

Gordon Brown saved the financial system, so they say.

My professor asked a class of 50 or so, "who would raise children in the inner-city."

I was the only one who raised a hand.

The inner-city, still, is the Victorian place of work and factory. And gays.

Why is Manchester the gay capital of the United Kingdom? I asked.

Some things just are, I was told.

Some things just are.
